The East Nippon Expressway Company Limited (NEXCO East) is testing to delay the timing of opening the electronic toll collection (ETC) gate bars toreduce the speeds through the lanes. This new measure aims to reduce the number of accidents that vehicles contact others or accessories at and around ETC lanes. As results, the traffic speeds have reduced drastically as well as the contacting rates with ETC gate bars.
