This paper investigates the transferability of travel demand models describing the frequency of travel undertaken by members of a household. Travel activity is represented in terms of the number, of tours- and number-of non-home stops made by members of a household instead of the conventional representation in terms of the number of trips. Two disaggregate data bases, collected in Minneapolis and Baltimore, are used to empirically investigate intra- and inter-regional transferability of tours- and stops-generation models.
