Samenvatting

Passenger and goods transport are forecast to increase substantially and this will lead to a growing energy requirement. For the planning of future transport systems, energy analyses and ecological balances are of importance. In this contribution the specific primary energy requirement of different transport systems (rail, road, etc.) in function of different relevant parameters are elaborated. Thereby, the energy required for fuel production as well as different routes of electricity generation are considered. This is complemented by the energy necessary for the production of materials and the energies for production, maintenance and the recycling of old vehicles. Finally, the evaluation of the total emissions is outlined. (A)
