Samenvatting
As justification for transport modelling being considered an art: human behaviour was studied in terms of travel behaviour generally & transport modelling specifically. As justification for transport modelling being considered a science travel behaviour can be measured, so that it can be modelled. Transport modelling is based on evidence & involves systematically gathering knowledge & organising it. Overall transport modelling was considered to be both an art & a science with the theory part being the science & the application part being the art.
