This publication brings together the results of European Conference of Ministers of Transport's (ECMT) recent work on Transport for People with Mobility Handicaps. Since 1985 ECMT has published several major reports on the practices in Member and Associated Countries and on the proceedings of Seminars on specialised topics. Four formal Resolutions on the topic have been adopted by the ECMT Council of Ministers. The present report, prepared by the ECMT Working Group on Transport for People with Mobility Handicaps, is intended first, to inform a wide audience of the nature of the transport problems faced by people with disabilities. It also describes some of the progress that is being made in many countries and finally sets out future objectives and the means of attaining them. (A)
