Samenvatting

This article describes the transportation provided for handicapped people in Buenos Aires. Under present legislation, any disabled person who has to use a car to do his job is entitled to have his car adapted to suit his needs. However there is no special driver training or assessment available. Public transport is provided free of charge to more people travelling to either an educational establishment or to a rehabilitation centre. There are few if any modifications to public transport vehicles or stations which would make them more accessible to the disabled.
