Samenvatting

The ability of transit users to make full use of a transit system's capabilities depends on their ability to understand traveler information. An experiment was conducted to see how travellers' ability to understand transit guides affects their performance in choosing travel routes. Experimental results indicate a strong need for improved information. Active information devices that direct travelers to the destination should resolve the deficiencies of passive devices.
