This data collection and accident investigation system was designed and implemented to obtain (1) accident frequency and exposure information on driver and vehicle population, (2) injury and vehicle damage in accidents where damage to the vehicle was sufficient that it was towed away, and (3) multi-disciplinary in-depth investigations of injury and accident causal factors.
