Samenvatting
The present situation regarding truck accidents in New Zealand is reviewed. It is found that about 9% of reported injury accidents involve trucks and that predictably severity increases with speed limit and size of truck. In truck versus smaller vehicle accidents it is more frequently the occupants of the smaller vehicle that are injured. The impact on safety of removing the 150 km restriction is analysed.
