This article describes the air bag systems currently available, and provides a list of makes of car which have driver side air bags as standard equipment. The design of the air bag currently being manufactured by TRW is presented, including details of its specifications, envelope dimensions, crash sensors, and air bag firing circuits. Diagrams are provided, including circuit diagrams for the Rolamite sensor.
