Tunnel entrance Lighting-effect of fixation joint and other factors on the determination of requirements.

The Japanese recommendations for daytime tunnel entrance luminances are lower than those of CIE. To verify this difference the eye movements of drivers approaching tunnel entrances were investigated by means of a corneal reflection eye-marker recorder. A modification of the recommendations is suggested.
