Samenvatting
This article deals with the problem of tunnel lighting, and especially with the type of light needed at the entrance of the tunnel. Extending a tunnel by day a driver's eye has to adapt itself to the low lighting level in the tunnel. The cost of lighting systems and the types of lamps used in tunnel lighting are described. Specifications proposed for tunnel lighting are presented. Also the best lighting type for pedestrian crossings discussed.
