Samenvatting
The most difficult problems of the lighting of tunnel entrances are caused by daylight, because drivers have problems with the black part of the tunnel entrance, the so-called induction effect, and they have problems with dark adaptation. During recent years many recommendations have been presented by the CIE (Commission International de l'Eclairage) and new techniques for the lighting of tunnel entrances have been developed. This third generation of tunnel entrance lighting is discussed.
