In this paper the extension of knowledge about the tyre- to ground interaction, since this is fundamental to the major tyre performance parameters- tread wear, traction and wet grip are described. This is the report of the latest materials, cords and compounds, with a consideration of the developments of tread patterns and tyre constructions.
