Samenvatting
In order to guarantee satisfactory conditions of visibility the luminance of the road surfaces should amount to at least 2 cd/m². It is examined at which horizontal illuminance by daylight this value is reached. Attention is given to the varying conditions of the sky and the differing properties of reflection of the road surfaces. Recommended is an horizontal illuminance of 90 1x for switching on street lighting.
