Samenvatting

The sudden increase in the price of crude oil in the 1970's has spurred the search for savings in the field of energy and bitumen consumption. Reducing the thickness of wearing courses to 25 mm was the answer Entreprise Jean Lefebvre has come up with. After several years of application on French roads a test on the LCPC accelerated test track has confirmed and quantified the excellent results obtained on the road. In addition this technique is proving successful in the UK and in the Czech Republic. (A) The German title of this article is: ULM : neue sehr dünne Verschleissschicht.
