Samenvatting

In this seventh thematic report, the AIB has studied, and analysed in depth, 30 accidents which occurred on Danish highways. More than 30 per cent of serious injuries in Denmark occur on highways, and approximately 60 per cent of all traffic deaths are caused by accident on primary roads. That is the basis for HVU's analysis of serious accidents on highways. The analysis includes selected road sections on primary routes, which are roads outside the motorway system, linking the provinces and cities. On these roads the traffic is heavy. When the accidents were compiled in AIB's analysis, it became evident that they could be divided into three different types. Included in the analysis are 6 solo accidents, 12 head-on accidents and 10 crossroad accidents. There are 2 accidents which do not fall under these types. (Author/publisher)
