At the request of the National Road Administration, the institute has undertaken a number of traffic measurements on two-lane roads. The results were intended for predicting the actual speed reduction on slippery road surfaces under wintry conditions if the speed limit was altered from 110to 90 km/h. This effect was calculated by using data from speed measurements on 110 and 90 km/h roads under both icy and dry conditions.
