Samenvatting
This paper shows that up till now, methods used for describing expected road safety on the basis of a quantitative observation of traffic behaviour are unsatisfactory and that in West- Germany, these methods do not need particularly urgent development or implementation, since police reporting of traffic accidents is sufficient to describe the road safety situation in every section of the road network.
