Samenvatting
Results of a study on the operation of safety fences with pillar box profile in the median barrier of motorways are presented. All police records of accidents with safety fences in the median reserve in the Kanton of Zürich during 1977- 1982 were studied. Different viewpoints were considered; accident rate with such fences, accident category, vehicle behaviour during impact; impact speed. drunkenness, driving by daylight or at night etc.
