Samenvatting
Young drivers (aged 18-24) have an accident risk 6-7 times higher than the average driver. Driving behaviour and risk perception among young drivers seem to reflect the psychological and social processes taking place in late adolescents. Especially for young males the level of confidence, fascination and selftesting are motivational factors for high speed driving. The driving behaviour was examined in accordance with these aspects, and one finds that young males in every way represent extremes. The studies indicate the potential risk of the drivers.
