Samenvatting
The time for recognizing traffic signs exposed by tachistoscope was tested of a group of drivers and a control group of non-drivers. There were significant differences in faster recognition owing to the type of traffic signal and dependent upon driving practice. The differences did not depend upon personnel characteristics such as extraversion and neutoticism. A further survey investigates the effect of penalty in connection with a certain traffic sign on recognizing the resp. sign, which did not restrain, but enforce subjects perception of the signs.
