Samenvatting
The purpose of the study was the development of a control model for use in a motorway network. On the basis of an analysis of the network structure, potential weak spots on the open road and in the vicinity of intersections are defined, and the permissible volumes for particular degrees of traffic quality are indicated. With an evaluation of existing counting posts for permanent traffic counts the proportion of through traffic which could be influenced by control measures is established.
