Samenvatting
Characteristics apparent in many reported cases with a significant trauma caused by seat belts are: the lack of significant clinical findings in many of these patients; the delay in diagnosis for suspected intra- abdominal injuries; and the increased morbidity from delayed treatment. Awareness of possible internal injury is mandatory.
