Samenvatting

One of the more promising mathematical techniques for describing and predicting urban traffic flow is the approach which is based on supposed known distributions of trip origins and destinations. Most relevant to this approach is a knowledge of urban population density distributions, for which a number of models is extant. A statistical analysis based on Australian data is made of the relative adequacies of some of these distribution models.
