The use of an accelerated wear machine to examine the skidding resistance of concrete surfaces.

An accelerated wear machine has been developed to simulate on specimens tested in the laboratory the type of wear observed on concrete road surfaces. This machine can be used to examine the relative effects of various factors, e.g. materials and mis design, on the skid resistance value and on the retention of texture.
