Samenvatting

The development and implementation of transportation policies is a continuous process which needs to be supported by an array of data collected on the transportation system, including data on the demand for and users of the system. The United States has three primary nationwide sources of data on passenger movements: (1) National Travel Survey, (2) Nationwide Personal Transportation Survey, and (3) Journey- to- Work Survey Supplement. These data, along with other data collected on transportation system, are used in a number of ways to meet the needs of policymakers and analysts.
