The use of size matching to demonstrate the effectiveness of accommodation and convergence as cues for distance.

It is shown that accommodation and convergence of the eye, with exception of all other distance cues, gives fair cues for distances up to 2 metres, under application of an aculomotor adjustment technique, to establish equivalent distances with the image size matching method.
