Samenvatting

In the future, long distance road travellers will be those with plenty of time because road is the slow way compared with air travel. Related to this is the fact that long distance road travel grows more slowly than income whereas other forms of travel respond strongly to rising income. The urban road user of tomorrow will probably face more restrictions and /or selective charges, as well as possible discrimination on the grounds of need for access to certain roads. Rising incomes will result in more demand for road use by every type of user.
