Samenvatting

This paper is based on an explorative study performed in order to get an insight of mobility among people who have cognitive functional limitations. Focus in this paper is the use of and being in the transport system. Method used was focus group interviews with people who are experienced about everyday life for people with cognitive functional limitations (target group) due to their everyday communication with them - here called experts. The results showed that within the target group there are those who are always joined by someone else when leaving home in order to use the transport system as well as there are those who manage on their own. Being in company with other people can be seen as a possibility without barriers to move outside of home as long as there is company. However when there is nobody to serve as companion mobility may be limited. Among those who are going outside of home on their own the experts mentioned several barriers - most of them related to the use of public transport (A).
