Samenvatting

This study develops decision rules for determining the post interview control action to use as the result of an interview with a problem driver. Five factors are evaluated by the driver improvement analyst to determine a factor profile for each driver. The five factors are: 1- accident potential 2- ability to adjust 3- identification of the driving problem 4- willingness to try corrective measures; and 5- pattern violations. To aid in obtaining a uniform evaluation, guidelines are developed for each factor. A decision by the department on the post-interview control action has been predetermined for each factor profile. The analyst compares profile he has developed with the decision rules to determine which action to use.
