Samenvatting
A literature study was carried out with the object of compiling available information concerning the influence of road roughness on driving characteristics of cars and on driver performance in relation to traffic safety. The study has indicated the importance of road roughness and vehicle speed relative to their effect on the normal wheel force on the carriageway. Contradicting opinions, however, prevail as to the effect of this on braking performance.
