Samenvatting

Improvement of the accessibility of urban centres is a growing problem in The Netherlands. More and more economic centres seem difficult to reach. The government can no longer guarantee the accessibility of city centres on its own. Private parties are more and more interested to invest in improving accessibility, because they see accessibility not only as a problem but also as a chance to improve the attractiveness of a location or to develop new products where the market is waiting for. Some initiatives have taken in The Netherlands but few have led to big improvements of accessibility or a big number of users. In this paper, some recommendations are made to develop accessibility services that really improve the (perception of) accessibility. (A)
