The accessibility of shops, offices, schools, bus stops in a district is related to distance over the road, attractiveness of the routes and the combinability of destinations. The structure of the network of pedestrian and cyclist routes plays an important role in this respect. By clustering the pedestrian and cyclist streams a symbiotic effect can be introduced and the attractiveness of the routes themselves can be increased.
