Samenvatting

When a driver must select one of several routes to a destination, he may first consider the travel time to the destination (called Travel Time for short). As road traffic networks have been constructed, expanded and arranged for a long time, there are many opportunities for drivers to select routes to their destinations using car-mounted devices. Therefore, information on Travel Times has been attracting attention and interest among other information details provided by a traffic control centre. The authors carried out a demonstration experiment to verify the validity of this information to user drivers, using branch routes whose Travel Time information could be presented, and variations in the behaviour of vehicles travelling were analysed.
