Samenvatting
Dynamic Traffic Management (DTM) is a common method to reduce congestion on freeways. This thesis extends DTM to control traffic vehicle-class specifically by exploiting the class-specific properties of vehicle length, maximum speed and value of time. In a case study, multi-class ramp metering and multi-class route guidance are simulated and compared to their conventional, mixed-class counterparts. The results show that vehicle-class specific DTM improves the network performance. (Author/publisher)
