Samenvatting
The Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research TNO has developed a new airbag. It is intended to yield lesser danger for the car occupants. The gas in this new airbag is based on substances that do not eject dangerous combustion products. An additional benefit is that in case of destruction of the airbag there is lesser environmental pollution. The TNO Institute has applied for a patent on this new airbag. This article describes the working of the airbag, the search for new and safer gas and the tests results (see also C 6381 fo).
