Samenvatting
The project concerns the safety of wheel-chair users in road transport by passenger cars and minibuses. In The Netherlands there in on legislation prescribing the use of wheelchair occupant protection systems. The objective of the project is to develop requirements regarding the safety and operation of both wheelchair and occupant restraint systems. Dynamic sled tests showed that the crash-safety of current Dutch systems is insufficient. Several requirements concerning safety and operation are recommended.
