Samenvatting
Besides road administration and road network, highways can also be classified in functions. This functional classification can be distinguished into three road networks. The road sections of these road networks consist of the main categories A.B.C. and D., each separate with specific characteristics for the designer and the user. Low volume roads in rural areas belong commonly in category D and are divided into 5 types according to the width of the pavement. In this report the traffic flow on such roads are described.
