Samenvatting
There are three kinds of traffic engaged with working and dwelling (1) traffic from home to home (the social contracts); (2) traffic from home to work; and (3) traffic from work to work The journey from home to work is the main cause of traffic. If it should be possible to influence the pattern of the home-work traffic, the whole traffic in urban areas should be changed. Some subjective aspects, in particular the mentality, which play a role in the choice of transport mode, are discussed.
