This three parts of a study, made by the Dutch dept. for agriculture, report on the country road system and traffic on this roads. Part 1. includes: classification of road types, detection of regular patterns and other features, determination of traffic intensity and build up utilization of there roads for recreation, and the ratio between working day and week-end traffic growth and road capacity. Part 2: A survey is given of some observations and statistical methods used in analysing the speeds and traffic intercity encountered on Dutch country roads. Some conclusions on the study are given. Part 3: This part deals with leisure hour traffic on country roads, the capacity of such roads and increase in traffic intensity on certain road systems between 1954 and 1962. This increase amounts 8-21% for cars and 6½ - 18½ for trucks depending on certain road types.
