Samenvatting
The penal and civil consequences of a traffic accident are discussed in connection with each other. The legal status of the accident involved person in present law is explained. Some proposals are made for modification of the position of accident victims. Because the traffic behaviour of road users is only very slightly influenced by penal and civil legal sanctions, the author makes a plea for a compulsory insurance for traffic accidents.
