Samenvatting
The numbers of traffic accidents and the injured registered by the CBS for the period 1974-1977 are markedly less than for the period 1970-1973. Especially the fractures caused by accidents have decreased. Steps taken in 1974 and 1975 to improve road safety have been effective. In 1975 a sudden decrease of the number of fractures in volving the skull and face occured. The number of casualties among cyclists and pedestrians has increased. Road discipline has not improved but positive effects are due to safety measures taken.
