Samenvatting
In psychiatry and traffic medicine we have to deal with the following problems: alcoholism; behaviour related to the driver's age such as joy-riding; illnesses, mental or physical, etc. Traffic law has as its basic principle: trust, which means that everyone is supposed to keep to the rules. Traffic and politics in the netherlands are closely linked. One party wants to spend more money on road building, another party favours public transport. Traffic safety demands many measures. Examples are given.
