The municipality is also interested how the trends in the municipality are related with trends and target groups in the other three major cities in the Netherlands: Amsterdam, Utrecht and The Hague. They would also like to have clarity about the usability of the current data on road traffic casualties as recently presented in the software programme ‘VIA Signaal’. Goal is to obtain for clues for policy in the field of road safety. The analysis was carried out on the basis of data from the police registration (BRON) and the national medical register (LMR). SWOV also investigated the usability of the crash data that has recently been made available in the software programme VIA Signaal. Starting points for policy were formulated by taking the main target groups from the analyses as a starting point. The following groups were distinguished: - largest groups; - groups with adverse developments; - groups that are relatively large in Rotterdam compared to other major cities in the Netherlands; - high risk groups.
