Samenvatting
An interdisciplinary analysis of a traffic accident while using a seat-belt is reported. A motor vehicle passenger, using a 3-point-automatic locking belt during a frontal-impact accident, sustained severe abdominal injuries. The analysis of the dynamic and belt forces affecting the passenger during the impact shows the relationships between belt-loads and the pattern of the injuries.
