This paper deals with the stability of time spending on trips, the BREVER law. The different research results are contradictorily. This may be caused by the used trip definition. The study compares the BREVER law with the theory of travel behaviour. Previous studies use aggregate data. This causes the drawn of incorrect conclusion from by aggregation of data perished information. Therefore, it is investigated to what extent there is the stability of time spending on trips by the whole population by using the time spending of population groups with a homogeneous travel behaviour. Increase of the participation of women in the working population, increase of car availability, and increase of the personal income increase the trip time spending. So the BREVER law has to be rejected. Congestion on the expressway will shift origin-destination (OD) matrix and replace car trips to other times and other relations on other roads.
