From the study of 1292 cases it was not found possible to determine whether medicines improved the driving aptitude of drivers who had consumed alcohol. The statistical evaluation demonstrates that the medical findings varied enormously and related in no way to the degree of drunkenness. Their use in evaluations is of doubtful value. Statistically significant results relating to the interaction of drugs and alcohol in the sense of an increase in the drunkenness symptoms were found impossible to obtain.
