Samenvatting

The aim was to determine whether behaviour in road traffic is changed by the dynamic group process - matching the theories of Fishbein (1976) and Bem (1972). Research procedure: from 92 drivers, 60 were selected by means of the cologne driver-behaviour test as "worst drivers" and divided into two parallel groups (vg and kg). The vg drivers were then requested to answer questions on road traffic in terms of social desirability. The drivers of the kg group received a lecture on driving school standards. Hypothesis: (a) it may be expected that the vg group show greater change of behaviour than the kg group; (b) in order to test the comprehension of the participants they were given a questionnaire with questions of a behavioural nature (b1). It may be assumed that the replies to this questionnaire agree better with the results of the observations after the work (and particularly in vg and kg); (c) because the vg group considered it directly after the determinants of the behavioural nature, it may be expected that the replies to the questionnaire fit better for the vg group than the kg. The vg group fare better in all points. Therefore because the differences are not statistically certain, the following points may be made: (1) for a Kovari analysis the groups are very small; (2) the original value of the vpn are too high; (3) the treatment of the vg group in one session is not sufficient to produce a significant difference.
