This publication is intended to provide a statistical impression of the scale and significance of the Dutch insurance industry. It also presents a picture of the economic and social context in which insurers operate. Dutch insurance industry in figures is a publication of the Dutch Association of Insurers (Verbond van Verzekeraars) and has been compiled by the Centre for Insurance Statistics (CVS) with contributions of Statistics Netherlands (CBS) and GfK PanelServices Benelux. The figures will also be found on the website of the Dutch Association of Insurers (http://www.verzekeraars.nl). A few tables have been added to the 2005 edition. Chapter 4 got a new table about stock exchange indices. Chapter 14 got a new table about premium volume by distribution channel. Some other tables have been accelerated. (Author/publisher)
